So we’re only on the 2nd page of this year’s blank 365 page book but I could not be more excited for the year ahead. Despite having a hard year in 2017 I managed to end the year on a high and came out of it feeling stronger, more hopeful for the future and proud of the struggles I had overcome. I’m ready for all the adventures this year has waiting for me, including celebrating my 30th birthday in August and a number of plans already in my diary. I literally have at one thing already planned for 10 months of this year so I thought I’d share with you all what I’m up to this year, which starts straight away with a very busy first weekend of January.
A few weeks ago I went to the Rekorderlig Cider Lodge and I was telling Charli about it as I thought it would be a nice date venue for her and her boyfriend. As we haven’t seen each other in a while he was swiftly ditched for the idea of us going instead this Friday for drinks and a much need catch up. The following day I will be travelling to Bedford for the night with Abi, we are staying in a hotel and going for dinner and drinks to celebrate Scarlett‘s birthday and I’ll get the chance to see a couple of other blogging friends there too.
I have never been to an Afternoon Tea before so on the last Sunday of January I’ll be meeting up with Lauren, Emily, Justine, Nirvana and Jenny to go to one. We’re going to get all dressed up, we’ll more than likely end up going for the boozy option and then have a good girly gossip and catch up. One of my Christmas presents was an Unlimited Prosecco and Italian Meal for 2 in Covent Garden and I think Claire and I will be going to this in February as I’m hoping to book off a few of the same days she has off that month.
I’m loving the idea of weekends away this year, especially if I get to visit friends that live far away at the same time. My first will be to Colchester in March and then I’m off to Newcastle in April to celebrate my friend 30th. I haven’t actually seen her since I was a bridesmaid at her wedding a few years ago so I am beyond excited to spend the weekend with her.
In May my Mum and I will be going to the Strut Summit which is described as “an afternoon of STRUTTERLY FABULOUS dance classes designed to BOOST SELF CONFIDENCE and RELEASE YOUR INNER DIVA” run by the lady who trained my Strutology class teacher. Claire is 25 in June and whilst we haven’t decided exactly what we are doing yet I’m sure it will be a month full of celebrations, drinks and fun days and nights out.
In July I’m off to Ibiza for 5 days to celebrate Lauren’s Hen Do and I’m most excited for the Zoo Project party whilst we’re there. There’ll be no time for holiday blues when I get back though as literally less than four weeks later I’ll be off to Magaluf with Claire and Olga for my pre birthday holiday.
Of course August is the month I’m most looking forward to as not only am I going back to my favourite place in the world, and seeing my adopted Spanish family, but my actual birthday is on the 18th August and I will be celebrating with a Disney fancy dress party. I’m booking an area in a club in London and friends are coming down from up north to celebrate with me and everyone seems really up for it with a lot of friends already deciding on their costume for the night, I of course will be Ariel and no one else is allowed to be. It’s also Charli’s 30th in August so it will be quite the month of celebrating.
The location hasn’t been decided yet but in October I will of course be celebrating Halloween. Preferably going somewhere for the weekend again like last year, in fancy dress and with my make up on point for the night. Anyone who knows me knows that Halloween is my favourite holiday to celebrate and I have passed on my love of it on to many of my friends. I usually have it planned way in advance so ask me again in a few months and I’m sure I’ll have all the plans firmly in place.
In November I’m going to see Sarah Millican at the Hammersmith Apollo with Claire which I bought for her as a Christmas present and we are staying in a hotel for the night so we don’t have to worry about the awkward late night journey home after. I love comedy shows and my Mum got me a Comedy Show for 2 package for Christmas and I always go to at least one charity comedy night at The Comedy Store in London so these will be filling up my year soon enough, and Claire also got a Comedy Show for 4 package for Christmas so a lot of laughs will be had this year.
I need to arrange a number of catch ups with friends, especially Christine and Ashleigh as I need to celebrate both their birthdays that I’m sadly having to miss. I will be joining Fitness First gym through an offer at my work and getting my fitness and health back to a good place as I really let myself slide last year, and I’ve just realised I have no plans with Aaron at this point so that needs to be sorted out too. I’m sure there’ll be plenty more filling my diary as the year goes on but to already have all of this to look forward to is just fabulous. Here’s to a fabulous 2018!
