Things To Do During The Day In Magaluf

I recently shared with you my recommendations on where to stay and what to eat whilst in Palma Nova. I mentioned that I usually stay in Palma Nova but spend a large portion of my holidays in Magaluf itself. With a maximum of ten minutes in a cab to most places in Magaluf it doesn’t cost much to visit. In this post I’ll be sharing activities, attractions and things to do during the day in Magaluf.

KATMANDU PARK

Katmandu Park is proudly known at the “friendliest theme park in Europe” and has something for everyone. The main building is an upside-down house which started it all and is actually an indoor attraction. The house is an interactive journey that you explore with experiences, illusions and using your imagination. You’ll need to survive a shark attack and play life size games and more to make it to the exit.

In the garden of the house you’ll find an array of indoor and outdoor attractions to get involved in. There are two unique mini golf courses, giving you the choice between the themes of fire or ice. Each course has 18 holes and part of the course even includes an erupting volcano. We are particularly bad at miniature golf and we’re highly competitive, but we did have a lot of fun.

There are a number of interactive rides at Katmandu including Desperados and The Haunted Asylum. Desperados brings The Wild West to life as you take a simulated horseback ride armed with laser pistols. You are in competition with the other riders as you are scored during the shoot-out. The winner is revealed at the end with a very glamorous picture of you caught mid ride.

The Haunted Asylum is a 4D virtual ride through a haunted asylum which is a multi-sensory experience. You are taken on a spine-chilling journey that will seriously creep you out if you’re anything like me. The Haunted Asylum is one of four 4D virtual rides and Desperados is one of two laser shooting games. You can see the rest of the attractions on Katmandu Park’s website, but I’d definitely recommend spending a day there.Charli and Tanya posing against an imposed backdrop of Grand Canyon at Western Water Park, used in Glam Glitz Gloss post Things To Do During The Day In Magaluf

WESTERN WATER PARK

Western Water Park is obviously a water park and has three areas: Western Land, Indian Town and El Paso. You can get a cab there but there is also an option to go there by coach. There are multiple pick up locations across Palma Nova and Magaluf that you can book onto. We usually book a seat on the coach to get there but get a cab on the way home.

I like to start off in El Paso where you’ll find Boomerang, a 15-metre-high half pipe with a high drop. It’s one of those slides that will make you feel like your stomach just fell out of your arse. You’ll need a rubber ring for this ride which can be hired from a nearby stand. You can hire a single or double ring, or you can wait around for a free one to become available.

In Western Land you’ll find the eleventh highest slide in the world, The Beast. It has an almost vertical drop of over 30 metres, and I was terrified but gave it a go. Charli is actually scared of water, so she skipped this one, but I was impressed with how much she went on. She preferred the longest slide, Big Hole, a pitch-black tube slide you can go down together.

If you want more of a chilled experience, you can recharge your batteries in the Bath House. Or reclaim your inner child and run through Chorros, the outdoor floor water fountain. If your inner child is cheekier though you might want to risk standing under Cascada, a barrel filled waterfall. Are you brave enough to wait for it to fill up and drop? Finally, in Indian Town you can take a break on the Wild River, which despite the name can be lazy too.Charli and Tanya posing in bikinis on a catamaran in Magaluf on a booze cruise, used in Glam Glitz Gloss post Things To Do During The Day In Magaluf

BOOZE CRUISE

There’s no way you can go to Magaluf and not get day drunk at least once during your trip. And the perfect way to do that, and the most fun, is to book yourself onto a booze cruise. The Magaluf Booze Cruise in particular is a great deal as it includes three offers in one. It includes an on-shore pre-party followed by two hours on board a catamaran and an on-shore after-party.

The pre-party begins in Coco Bongos Bar where the music is on point, and you can get a great alcoholic milkshake. The reps will then round you all up and take you on board the catamaran for two hours at sea. You get complimentary beer or sangria included with your tickets, but other drinks are available to purchase on board. You will also get a Magaluf Booze Cruise t-shirt and personally I love collecting themed t-shirts.

Once you’re at sea the party games will begin before the DJ takes over and pumps up the volume. The best summer tunes will be playing and halfway through you can jump off the catamaran for a quick swim. After the two hours it’s time to pop back to your hotel and freshen up before the after party begins. Starting at Coco Bongos Bar they’ll show photos and videos from the boat and then it’s onto a bar crawl.Georgina and Tanya posing in life jackets and bikinis on a flying fish water sports inflatable raft ride, used in Glam Glitz Gloss post Things To Do During The Day In Magaluf

WATER LOVER ACTIVITIES

Down at the beach you can book boat tours, snorkelling tours and water sport packages to fill you day. You can take a jet boat tour along the southwest cost to Portals Vells with snorkelling and sea scooter use. You can book the flying fish, jet ski, crazy ufo and banana boat as individual rides or a package deal. There are so many options including parasailing, all sorts of adrenalin and fun filled activities.

In between Palma Nova and Magaluf you’ll find Big Blue Diving where they hold beginner and advanced courses. And just ten minutes away you’ll find the Wave House, the only Wave House in Europe. It has two wave machines, The Double FlowRider and The FlowBarrel Ten, which you can learn to surf on. Personally, I’ve not tried out either of these two, but I’ve heard good things about both.

Finally, I’d recommend you go to a pool party at some point during your holiday. I have been to the ones at Fiesta Sahara, but I don’t believe they run anymore. Instead you can go to Ocean Beach Club or BH Mallorca for their pool parties. Ocean Beach hosts the Kiss FM Pool Party every Sunday from 12:00 to 19:00 from June to September. If you book a bed in the VIP Zones, then you’ll get a special drinks package with your ticket.

I’d love to know your favourite things to do during the day in Magaluf and if I missed anything. Let me know whether you’ve added any of these onto your Magaluf travel wishlist. In my next post I’ll be sharing my recommendations of how to spend the evenings, and yes most involve drinking!
