I’ve never really posted about books before yet I read between 5-7 books every month, which I know because this year I decided to track my reads and see how much I can get through in a year. I’ve always enjoyed reading and over the years I’ve come to realise that my favourite books to read are from the Crime, Thriller and Mystery genre, and in particular I love a series that you can sink your teeth into. So I’ve decided it’s time for me to start including book reviews on the blog, and I’ll be starting with The Leigh Koslow series by Edie Claire.Leigh Koslow is a single career woman, working as an advertising copywriter who although avidly avoiding trouble, seem to have an aptitude for finding dead bodies or ending up in troubling and dangerous situations. The first book in the series is called Never Buried and is perfect for any age with both myself and my younger sister enjoying reading them. I have to say one of my favourite things about the books is that I have never once worked out who is the culprit is or how the story is going to pan out. Edie has kept me guessing through nine books and I’m about the start the tenth and I can’t imagine the next two will be any different.
Edie Claire is a veterinarian, a childbirth educator, and a mother of three and she is able to draw from all her experiences when writing the book. Leigh’s father Randall Koslow is a veterinarian and you can see that Edie is an expert in this area and is able to truly bring you into every moment of the book with great writing and intricate detailing where needed. Over the course of the books I have become invested in the characters lives, I’ve gotten angry at them for making mistakes, I’ve rooted for them to find love and happiness, and I have finished each and every book with a smile on my face content in how it has finished. Although it doesn’t stop me speculating and itching to get my hands on the next book to find out what the future has in store for everyone.
This was the first full-length adult book Edie ever wrote, and had planned for it to a romantic suspense, until she realised there was no man in it, and so it became a mystery instead. To really make the story authentic she interviewed the real Chief of Police from Avalon, where the book is based. Edie has a Facebook page and is very active with her readers, posting regular updates and responding to any posts you leave on the page.
Never Buried is currently available to download for free on Amazon Kindle so if you were interested in trying out a new author or series then now is the perfect time. And so I will leave you with the most important part, the synopsis for the book;
What an interesting sounding set of books, I have to admit I’ve not heard of them before, but I am a fan of mystery novels so I really do need to check them out.
I’ve never heard of this set of books before, they do sound interesting
That’s good going to read all of those books in one month! I usually read crime books (after my mum has finished reading them). Do you think I would like mystery novels?
I really need to get back into reading – I seem to spend all my free time watching TV at the moment lol! I think I’d like some of these books though x
It sounds like a great series and wow, good for you for reading 5-7 books a month! I can recommend you the Millennium series, if you like thriller books. It’s really good, especially the first volume.
This sounds really interesting, I might grab the first few books and see how I go. I am sure my mum would love to read them after me. Thanks for the great review 😉
Wow you have so many ebooks. Looks like a very interesting series. I would love to check this as well for my list of books to read.
Sounds good. I might give it a try as a new set of books for summer would be ideal. Thank you for your recommendation.
Wow I can’t believe how much you read, I need to make the time to read more. These books sound really good x
I love the sound of these books – well done on reading so many in a month! x
They all sound like very interesting books, I need to read more books you read so much more than me
I love to read too although like you I don’t talk about it on the blog. I love a mystery novel and it would be interesting to find out who the culprit was! x
These books sound just like the kind I would read and I am a voracious reader! I have just turned my kindle on to see if I can get them! Thanks for the review x
I love a good book recommendation, and especially in the crime/mystery genre because I love something I can sink my teeth into!
I’ve not heard of these books before or the Author to be honest. But they sound like good reads
I love reading and can normally get through quite a few very fast but I’ve not had the time lately! I love the sound of these! Definitely will add them to my list!
Sounds like a very interesting series, will check it out! 🙂
I’ve been a reader all of my life too! There’s nothing like a good book at the end of a long day. I always love a good mystery or true life spy story .. even though the suspense nearly kills me every time!
I do trust all of the ideas you’ve introduced in your post. They are really convincing and will certainly work. Nonetheless, the posts are very quick for newbies. May just you please lengthen them a little from subsequent time? Thanks for the post.
Wow 5-7 books a month is great! This sounds like a really good series to keep you going!
Never Buried reminds me of an adult version of a Nancy Drew novel which is right up my alley!
This sounds like something I’d enjoy, and I’ve just downloaded it from amazon. I’ve been trying to track my reading but I go through waves of reading loads then not picking up a book for weeks
I love it when authors keeps you guessing. I hate it when they’re predictable
I can’t wait to get back into reading! Might have to add some of these to my list. 5-7 books oh my god that’s impressive!
Ooh what an interesting series of books. I love mysteries and books that get me to think xxx
I love to read and am super stoked about this post!
Sounds an Interesting read and I can’t wait to read this glad that you share this with us.
I can barely finish one a month so kudos to you! That is a legit goal for me, haha. Haven’t heard of this series, but I’m going to check it out 🙂
