Last week I started a new job as a Sales Administrator but prior to that I had been working for Bare Minerals as an Account Manager. I had no make up or beauty experience before I started with them and I got a little training whilst working with them but unfortunately not as much as I had hoped for, so I did the ultimate blogger thing and turned to YouTube tutorials and used my friends as guinea pigs.

On a night out my go to look is a strong smoky eye and a red lip but I usually only achieve this by getting one of my make up artist friends to do it for me. I am lucky enough to have a number of talented beauties that are more than happy to help me out, but I have now hit the point where I would like to be able to do this myself. Armed with a plethora of products from my go to brands; Urban Decay and Bare Minerals, I went to my friend Sam’s house where we had planned a girls night in with Alicia, complete with take away and Disney films and whilst watching Hercules and Pocahontas I put myself to work and I don’t think I done half bad for an amateur attempt.
Do you watch make up tutorials, and if so who is your favourite? Do you have anything that goes right over your head when it comes to make up? Mine is definitely this strobing situation that has come about lately, and what is your proudest make up achievement?
Awww bless your friends, I don’t really do make up but I think it’s judy is my favourite beauty YouTuber
I don’t really know who my favourite make up tutorial you tuber would be – I’ve never looked!
I haven’t worn make up for months! I used to all the time but never watched tutorials etc
I don’t watch nearly as many make up tutorials as I should. I need to master the art of contouring next x
So good of your friends to join in 🙂 I don’t watch many tutorials as I just don’t have the same skills as they do. I can’t do liquid eyeliner at all for one thing.
I don’t watch all that many Youtubers I have to admit, but Liza Prideaux is amazing for her tutorials x
I watch quick tutorials on Instagram but hardly go on YouTube these days.
I love Shaaanxo for tutorials – she does incredible make up x
I don’t really watch makeovers on YouTube although I probably should. You did a great job.
I used to watch loads of beauty tutorials but I was never able to replicate them myself! Looks like you did an excellent job 🙂
Love the enhancement of the forehead. Not into make up so this guide is totally for me!
