How would you describe your brand
I would describe The Holiday Boutique as Glamorous and bold, but also cool and quirky.
What lead you to working with swimwear
I regularly travel in the winter months and for years I have struggled to shop for holiday pieces, in December shops are full of Christmas trees and turkeys, not bikinis, kaftan’s and flip flops. So one sunny day during DECEMBER in Kho Phi Phi Thailand, I was floating on a pink Lilo and said lets do this, another factor was that earlier on that day a lady was wearing the same bikini as me, even though we were 12 hours from the UK!
How would you define your own personal style
Quite classic, a little urban at times, I’m currently loving trainers! If you had said to me 6 months ago I’d be wearing a pair of Nike blazers or Gucci high tops on a Saturday afternoon I’d have laughed so hard! I’m also addicted to Midi dresses for a night out, teamed with a pair of Louboutin’s it’s a perfect look.
Where do you find the inspiration for your work
Everywhere!!! Talking to friends, strangers on the street, travelling around the world and sitting on various beaches also really helps. Magazines, fashions shows, trades shows, adverts on TV. Literally I absorb everything and channel it through to THB.
I love your statement bikinis, what gave you the idea to do the personalised pieces
We love them toooo! Twitter! It started to get really big last year, everyone was jumping on it! Where best could you promote your twitter name? On holiday, whilst partying on Bora Bora beach Ibiza, with a bikini that says follow me @The _THB_Team – we thought of our own statements which will always change to keep is current, but advertising your twitter was the start really.
What is your favourite item from your line
Currently Heartless, by Lady Lux. It is a beautiful piece, the jewelled necklace is just divine! Makes me smile every time I look at it – Lady Lux also uses 18k gold so there’s the element of feeling expensive and exclusive when you wear one on their pieces.
Who has been your biggest fashion influence
Easy, Victoria Beckham, since wanna be was released I have been a die hard VB fan. She is always photo perfect, immaculate, always on point – plus a Hermes collection to die for. I’m also a huge Kim Kardashian fan, although her style has changed a little since Kayne restyled her closet! Kim always looks great and she hardly ever has off days!
What do you find most rewarding, and most challenging about your job
The most rewarding part will seeing my clients on holiday in a THB piece, smiling, partying and feeling HOT! The most challenging part has got to be running THB alongside my day job.
What one item can you not live without at the beach
Sunglasses!!! Big over sized ones! No matter how sweaty or hung over you are a huge pair of shades will make all the difference!
Where would you like to see your brand in 5 years
In 5 years I would like to see The Holiday Boutique as a chain of stores and producing some of our own bikini lines!
They have such a great range and I spent so long deciding which piece was my favourite, but I finally decided on the Animal Monokini, which although I’d never get away with wearing it myself, looks amazing. I would strongly urge you to check out their website for your holiday purchases, they do accessories too. You can keep up with the team over on Twitter, I look forward to seeing them at High Street Fashion Week.
