If you on the look out for a new restaurant to try I would definitely recommend you going to Loch Fyne, found in the stylish West Village of Bluewater. Clearly from the name you can tell the type of food it serves and whether it would be your kind of place, but even if you are just a lover of the classic cod and chips their take on it is divine and worth a try.
You know when someone says to you “If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?” My Mum’s answer has and always will be fish, and so this was the perfect place for us to go for a meal. It does not have a massive menu but I still struggled to decide between all the lovely dishes, but in the end I settled with Home-made Fish Soup, Gruyere and Salt Cod Brandade Croutons to start, followed by the Seafood Tagliatelle which had Scottish scallops, clams, squid, king prawns and samphire, in a white wine and cream sauce.
My Mum went with Pot-Caught Devon Crab & Grapefruit Salad, followed by the Whole Baked 1lb Lobster in garlic butter, although she did end up with more on herself than what she ended up eating because she was lethal with the cracker.
We ended the meal with the Belgian Chocolate Tart with Raspberry Coulis and Ice Cream, although I would not recommend you ordering this alone, it is far too rich for just one person. It is a little pricey as you could imagine for a really nice fish restaurant but for a special occasion it would be a really nice choice. You can also buy fish fresh from the counter in the middle of the restaurant to take home with you, dinner and shopping rolled into one.
What nice restaurants have you been to lately? What is your favourite restaurant of all time?
