On the 18th August I celebrated my 30th birthday and I was lucky enough to be sent a Personalised Letterbox Cake from the lovely team at bakerdays, which I got to design myself. Not only did they treat me but they are also treating one of my followers to their own Letterbox Cake too. Giving you all the chance to win and design your own for the occasion of your choice, whether it be a birthday, new job, or just a cake to celebrate you because let’s face it life is better with cake.
bakerdays allows you to create your own unique and personalised cakes, cupcakes and helium balloons, all from the comfort of your own home and then have them delivered pretty much anywhere to anyone. They have a range of delivery options, including weekend, next day and worldwide, but I think the best delivery option is the Letterbox Cake as you can surprise anyone at any time without worry of whether they will be home to receive the parcel.
Using advanced printing technology and premium quality ingredients bakerdays do not disappoint with their delicious offering, they have cakes to suit all occasions and they even offer gluten, wheat and dairy free options so everyone is able to enjoy. I’ve always been a big fan of personalisation on presents, giving it that little something extra and more memorable, so I love that you have the option to include your own pictures on their cakes.
When it came to deciding what cake to go for I knew immediately that I wanted to include a photograph and which one to go for. For the past year or so I have been going through a love hate relationship with my body after gaining some weight and was partially dreading going on Lauren‘s Hen Do and being the big girl by the pool. I’m by no means the biggest girl out there but at my personal heaviest weight I was not happy and was not looking forward to getting into my swimwear but when I arrived in Ibiza something clicked and I began to embrace my curves.
At Ocean Beach, with my amazing photographer for the holiday Justine taking pictures with the iPhone portrait mode a sudden love for myself came over me and when she sent me the photos afterwards I was happy to say that I actually loved some of them. Believe me it’s been a while since I’ve said that, and so I knew instantly that one of my body loving, enjoying life, smiling with friends photos was going to grace my personalised birthday cake along with the big 3-0 itself.
Last year I was not ready to deal with the fact I was a year away from 30 but now I am so ready for the next chapter in my life and excited to see where the next decade will take me. I already have some exciting new ventures set up and I had an amazing birthday party where I got to live my dream of being Ariel and once again was pleased to say that I loved my outfit, I was happy with how I looked and I got to focus on having the best night instead of what I’d look like in photos or hiding from the camera.
The cake I went for is the Diamond Photo Age Cake as I really like the design combining the pink and diamonds and having the ability to put my age and photograph on it. There is a Diamond Age Cake that doesn’t include a photograph so if you don’t like the idea of eating your own face or just don’t have a photo for that particular occasion you do have the option to go for a more simple design. There are a number of sponge flavours, including Vanilla and Chocolate Chip, but I went for Lemon Drizzle which is one of their seasonal flavours and it was delicious. Enter now to win your own Letterbox Cake and be sure to send me a picture after of your final design.
