Louise Redknapp invites you to be anything but predictable in her BOLD collection with Harvey’s Furniture on their first ever celebrity partnership. I was invited along for the reveal of Harvey’s first ever celebrity partnership, to see some of the collection and to watch an interview with Louise on what made her say yes to this particular collaboration, how much she got involved with the design and an insight to Louise’s own living style.
Like most collaboration offers Louise received a phone call asking if she’d be interested in working with Harvey’s and what caught her attention most was how much freedom they were willing to give Louise to get involved in the design, and as a big fan of art, fabric, design and fashion she felt it was an exciting project to get involved in. Loving a modern contemporary home and a uniform style, Louise knows that buying a sofa is not a seasonal purchase but an investment so she wanted to create a collection that had something a little different about it but that would still mix and match with the rest of the home. After a prior incident of buying an orange leather chair and having a friend pop over and ask if she’d bought it for Halloween, Louise knew she didn’t want to create any stupid statement pieces.
From the way the button holes went down, the depth of them, she wanted them as deep as possible, so they gave a true button hole effect, to the piping, the shape of the arms being slim, the depth of the sofa, the fact the cushions don’t crumple when you get up leaving a tidy looking sofa, Louise was involved in every aspect of the design. The legs were the major point that Louise wanted to get right and said herself that she was sure she could see people sweating when she still wasn’t happy with the legs on day five. Overall Louise was very clear that if she wasn’t going to have it in her own home she wasn’t going to tell everyone else to go out and buy it.
Designed to inject some personality into a room, the collection is available in a range of colours including a gorgeous dusky pink which was my personal favourite. Sadly I didn’t get a picture of the Love Seat that was on display in that colour as it was a popular choice amongst all in attendance and there was barely a moment where it wasn’t being photographed, I’m pretty sure that particular piece was photographed as much as Louise but who can honestly say no to a pink Love Seat, it was a stunning piece and retails from £649 with three different materials available; Serene – a velvet touch, Highland – a wool touch, and Hampton – a linen touch. The Serene material is available in emerald, indigo, turmeric and coral, and Highland and Hampton are available in neutral charcoals, greys and whites.
All the products are hand-crafted and made in Britain, and Louise visited the manufacturer to pick out fabrics and test designs every step of the way. BOLD by Louise is available online and in 136 Harveys stores nationwide and they have found the whole experience with Louise a thrilling creative journey. Customers will be able to be brave and push the boundaries when it comes to styling their homes with pieces including the Large Chaise, which is available in left or right facing, and has the option of coming with a stool. Don’t worry if you have a small living space Louise and Harveys have you covered with the Compact Sofa, and there is a storage footstool which is a must for anyone who doesn’t have much space to work with. The collection currently has 14 pieces of furniture so show Louise and Harvey that you are anything but predictable and go and see the BOLD collection now and let me know your favourite piece and colour.
