Launching this month exclusively in Superdrug Pixie is releasing four electrifying new colours perfect for the beautiful Summer we’ve been lucky enough to enjoy this year. I was invited to an intimate performance at The Cuckoo Club in London to see Pixie perform a number of songs and view the fun and colourful additions to the already 15-strong existing line-up, just in time for festival and birthday season.
Firstly I just have to point out that I did not need to use the zoom function at all, I was genuinely that close to Pixie Lott. After she performed about 4 songs Charli and I got to meet her, she is literally so lovely and so tiny, and she was so pleased we had come and that we had sung along with her performances. She kept saying join in and sing along and we were literally the only ones in the 30 strong crowd that were going for it. So basically what I’m saying is she is clearly our new best friend ha.

Now you all know I love a bit of glitter so I was so excited about the Metallic Spray On Hair Colours that come in Silver, Gold and Pink, and literally as soon as I saw them it took all of 20 seconds for me to be covered in the pink one. These retail at £3.99 for a 75ml can giving you a temporary colour that washes out easily, or you can just give yourself the lightest spray and have a touch of glitter to your hair without going all out with the shade.

Another exciting product, which is a first in the industry, is the Glow In The Dark Wash Out Hair Colour which comes in Neon Blue and Neon Pink. Pixie wore the Neon Pink shade for the event which I was so pleased that my camera picked up as a lot seemed to struggle, and she has been showcasing many of her products at multiple performances recently. You’ll be in for a surprise if you wear these colours under UV lights as they turn to a pure glowing white shade. These retail at £5.99 for a 100ml bottle and are super easy to apply with a simple brush, so you can paint on a streak and build up the colour. It also comes with the Fade Out Shampoo so you have complete control over the colour when working out the exact shade you want.

Next up we have the Metallics Colour Wash Out Hair Colour which comes in Graphite Grey, Silver Shine, Slate Grey and Black Shimmer, all of which will wash out in 2-10 washes and again comes with the Fade Out Shampoo. Another first to market, Pixie says these are perfect for giving blondes the freedom to experiment with temporary, intense darker shades. I am not sure if these will work in my hair as I’m obviously not blonde but I think I’d have more luck than a brunette as ginger isn’t too dark of a shade, but I’ll have to keep you posted on that one. This retails at £5.99 for a 100ml bottle.

If you can’t quite decide on a specific shade or want to try multiple shades in one hit for £11.99 you can buy the ‘I Can Sing A Rainbow’ Wash Out Hair Colour Mix. This holds six of the best-selling wash out colours in the range; Apricot, Bright Pink, Hawaiian Pink, Turquoise, Red and Voile. You can use this to create individual ombre, mermaid, unicorn and Balayage effects to your hair.

And last but certainly not least, we have the Chalk Pens which are sold individually and in a 4 pack for £5.99. The multipack contains blue, purple, red and yellow chalk and will be perfect for creating colourful looks for festivals and summer parties, and are small enough to chuck in your bag that you can change up your look throughout the day or across a weekend if you wanted to.

At the moment I don’t seem to have a minute spare to stop and try these products but my birthday is next month and I have a couple of nights out planned which I think will be the perfect time to test out the Pixie Lott Paint range. I definitely want to try one of the Neon shades for an ombre style on my hair, but I haven’t decided whether to go for pink or blue yet, any preferences let me know and I’ll post pictures of the finished look on my Instagram page.
