This time last year I gave in my notice at Bare Minerals and prepared to hang up my brush belt and return to office life. Whilst I hated the first office I worked in I’m now very happy at Debenhams Head Office but I really do miss my brush belt and working with make up. So you can imagine my excitement when I saw this Nanshy Brush Belt at Pro Beauty for the bargain price of just £10, instead of it’s retail price of £25.Read more »

Colour Pop is an American brand that I had seen a lot of bloggers raving about and I was planning on picking some bits up when I go to Florida in August but luckily for me I got a chance to try it earlier. I got a message from Lauren from Blonde Vision saying she was planning on buying some bits and if a few of us went in together we could split the delivery and tax charges and it wouldn’t end up costing anyone an arm and a leg.Read more »

A couple of weeks ago I attended Pro Beauty at ExCel London, which was actually a bit disappointing compared to previous years. A lot of brands I would make a point of seeing in previous years weren’t there and there seemed to be an overload of nails and salon machines. Whilst I left earlier than I usually would I didn’t come away completely empty handed and picked up a couple of bargains including two sets of Spectrum Brushes.Read more »

I always seem to be having conversations with friends about booking a spa weekend or going for a spa day, but it just never seems to come to fruition. This all changed recently when the Spa Manager from The Bannatyne Spa in Orpington invited me to the opening day of the spa.

Lara Croft is one of those larger than life video game characters. She’s been the epitome of girl power ever since she became the titular protagonist of a cult classic, Tomb Raider, in 1996. Fans and non-fans alike, know her as an intelligent, independent English archaeologist who, at the drop of a hat, transforms into a strong and agile adventurer. Her character travels to distinct locations all over the world, dealing with unstable terrains, death-defying climbs, and dangerous villains. In hindsight, Lara Croft is lithe yet fervent, graceful but quick, which is why she has the makings of an influential fitness icon.Read more »

Losing weight and eating healthier are always the top New Years Resolutions made every year and research analysts Mintel say “Nearly four-fifths of UK adults have set themselves at least one health or fitness goal, yet only 12% currently use a gym”. We can all admit that exercise is good for us, it helps you stay healthy, can make you look and feel good, alleviates stress, boosts your energy and so much more. But no one really talks about the “dark side” of fitness, like dealing with sweat, aches and pains, and being confused over what machines do what. Whilst there is no way to avoid the downsides of working out, there are some solutions to help you through it that I wish I knew when I first started at the gym.

SORTEDfood and Co-op have teamed up to tackle the cooking skills gap in the UK, dubbed the #CookingGap. The Cooking Gap is the lack of cooking experience that has developed in the 16-35 generation, whether it’s from not being taught these skills in school, not being taught how to cook at home or even the new notion that cooking and baking is a hobby rather than a vital skill.

We’re only a few days into 2017 but I am already excited for the upcoming months as I already have a number of fun plans pencilled in, including blog events, birthday nights out, hotel stays, holidays and the major development of this year being the year I should be moving out.Read more »

Last year was not a particularly great year for me and my family, or for the world for that matter, it seemed like there was always some sort of tragedy or issue happening. I am therefore very okay with waving goodbye to 2016 and welcoming 2017 with open arms. Usually my first post of the year would be my resolutions but this year I have decided to look back at 2016 and find the good things that happened each month to remind me that whilst shit happens, life goes on and you have to make the most of it whilst you can.Read more »
